Very anxious

So I went on my interview this past Tuesday. It was originally scheduled for Monday, but she called Monday and rescheduled. THAT was nerve wracking. I was fully prepared for her to call and cancel and say they'd already found someone. She didn't though. So I went Tuesday, the interview went well, I could tell she really liked me. I gave her a small dose of my personality while I was in there. Sometimes that's good, sometimes it's not. I'm a straight shooter and it is very difficult for me to be something I'm not. Most people will tell you don't be yourself (in general not just me) and do research on the company, and basically go in and say what they want to hear. I don't do that. If I have to pretend to be something I'm not, that isn't the job I need. After the interview she gave me a tour of the office. We happened to run into the doctor that is looking for an M.A.. He's young, only been in practice 6 years. She walked me to the door and said she would definitely be in touch, that she was going to speak to the doctor about me.

Thursday morning she calls and asks if I could come at 4:30 and meet with the doctor. I was supposed to stay late at my current job that day but ended up leaving early. LOL I went, and I was so NERVOUS. I'm normally not like that. At first he appeared to be way too soft spoken for me. He's one of those people that regardless of what he's saying his tone never changes pitch. People like that are hard to understand sometimes. As he kept talking I could see his personality come through. He does have a sense of humor, if he hadn't I wouldn't even be considering the job. He bought his share of this practice. The other 2 doctors have been practicing for 20 and 30 plus years. He is coming in and trying to modernize, and build clientale.

In this interview they got a BIG dose of me. I answered questions directly and didn't really hold back. Sometimes that can hurt me because people can find me to be too pushy. I felt good in the interview, I made them laugh, and such, I felt comfortable. AFTER I left the interview I wasn't much feeling that way. I thought I had blown it. I was sick to my stomach because I really want the job. So I did what most people would call the worst mistake.......I called yesterday. Yep, sure did. It's all about me really, I didn't want my weekend ruined so I took action. I thought the doctor really liked me but, I felt like I might have been too forward. So I called the office manager and thanked her for the interview, I told her I wasn't sure what type of an impression I made on the doctor ( she interuppted me and , a good one) so I said good, because I really want this job. YEAH I DID! She said good to know and asked my bottom dollar.

I wish the ending to this was I got the job, but that just happened yesterday so I may not hear before Tuesday. If they pay me my bottom dollar I will probably be the highest paid M.A. period. M.A.'s don't typically make over $14 an hour. He said he was willing to pay for quality. If he wants me he's going to have to. I'm a C.N.A./C.M.A. which is higher than an M.A. because I can give meds. I also have 8 years of patient care experience. Phillip thinks they're going to lowball me since he says "I begged for the job". When they ask for "bottom" dollar, usually if they aren't going to meet that, then they call and say sorry we aren't going to be able to afford to pay what you're asking. In which case, back to the drawing board. Right now it just depends on whether the doctor is willing to pay like he said he was, or hope there isn't another candidate. I'm going to try and go to work on Monday and not think about it. Cross your fingers for me.

On another note, Abby went trick or treating last night and got TONS of candy. She was snow white, and the prettiest one I ever saw. I took pics and will post later. We went to a friends house and ate and then took the girls to get candy, and watched scary movies (without the kids of course). I have a Halloween costume party to go to tonight. It's mandatory dress up so yes, I will be dressing up. This will be the first time I've dressed up for Halloween my whole life. I'm going to be Little Red Riding Hood punk/goth style. It's pretty hot actually. Sexy not slutty. This is the first time I've gone out by myself in a long time. I'm excited!

That's all the excitement I have for now, I will keep you posted about the job.

Touch base

Same ole around here I guess. I've been a bit more socially active these past couple of months. Phillip and Abby and I weren't home hardly at all last weekend, and it looks like we'll have another one of those this weekend too. I have a job interview on Monday with a doctors office, he is an ENT specialist. I've been at my current job for 1 1/2 years, and my time is up there. Way too many chiefs and not enough indians... which equals CHAOS. I'm excited and sad at the same time. I like my job and most of the people I work with, I've also put ALOT of time and energy into this company since I started. I'm just so exhausted and drained from it. So I'm hoping my interview goes well. It's very hard to get hired in a doctors office. You usually get in by word of mouth. I answered an ad on Craigslist. It's in Frisco which is AWESOME because it would only be a 10 minute drive to and from work. They usually have fantastic benefits, it's organized, and best of all I can wear scrubs again!! So cross your fingers.

On the baby subject, I think I am deciding I do not want to have another baby. I have more "don't want one" days than I do "do want one days". Abby is getting older and the older she gets, the more time I will have to work on me. Finish school, etc. It may be that my job is draining me so much I can't even imagine having a baby, maybe once I get out of the chaos it will be a little clearer.

On that note....I'm off to start my weekend.

End of week report (kinda long)

I'm exhausted as usual. Phillip and I took off on Tuesday and took Abby to the fair, it was $1 with a Dr. Pepper can. She had a blast! She's more like me in the thrill seeking area. She rode pretty much every kiddie ride there was, I didn't expect that. We rode the Ferris wheel first. Phillip was done after that. I think he rode one of the little roller coasters after that but, he was done. He's afraid of heights and can't really do anything that spins, fast or slow, it doesn't matter. It was SO expensive!! I think we spent over $300 dollars. We got Abby a game card because she wanted to play all the games. She got lots of stuffed animals. It was beautiful weather. It wasn't busy, not sure if it was because it was a weekday or the economy. I don't remember it being that expensive the last time we went.

Thursday Phillip sold my car to his friend. We went and looked at the Hyundai Sante Fe's that I wanted. They tried to rip us off. So we left. Friday they called Phillip and told him they would give it to him for what he wanted so I brought it home yesterday. I LOVE IT! It's silver with black leather interior, it's fully loaded. XM radio, navigation system (which I have on my phone but, whatever), sunroof, ALL the bells and whistles! Abby thinks it's awesome! LOL I will post pics as soon as I take some. I'm behind on posting videos and pictures.

On another note, I'm going to quit smoking this weekend. I'm going to take a pregnancy test first. I'm sure I'm not, I think it's this shot that just completely jacked my body up. I don't "feel" pregnant but, I have the symptoms. I got lucky with Abby because when I found out I was pregnant I was only one week gestation which is almost unheard of. I quit smoking the day I found out. I've been doing some research and it shows that you have to quit smoking the first 4 weeks, well most women don't find out until then. They say if you don't quit in the first 4 weeks to not quit because it puts alot of stress on the baby. Well, Marteel isn't smoking while pregnant. So, I might as well be proactive and quit before it happens. This is going to be ugly. The first time I quit there wasn't near the amount of nicotine in cigarrettes that there is now, thanks to the government. Because smokers threatened to quit when they said they were raising the price to $5.00 a pack, the governement allowed them to almost quadruple the nicotine in one cigarrette, making your body need it that much more, and make it that much harder to quit.

The first time I quit it lasted 3 years. The second time it lasted 6 months, the third time 2 months, the last time I tried I didn't make it past 48 hours. I seriously felt like I was coming off tweak. I quit cold turkey all four times, but the last time almost killed me I swear. I was crying for no reason, lashing out. It was bad. For those of you not aware, nicotine IS a drug, it's just not intoxicating. Needless to say I'm scared that will happen again, but I know I can do it. I'm going to start excercising as well, ESPECIALLY when I'm at work. I will be hitting the stairs at work when I would normally go smoke. I will have to lay off coffee (it makes me want to smoke) and I will have to eat smaller portions more frequently to prevent getting the "full" feeling (that makes me want to smoke too). I feel sorry for all the people who will be around me the first 2 weeks. Wish me luck!

Start of the weekend

Yesterday I took Abby to the dentist. She has no cavities! She has very healthy teeth! She did really well. The dentist was blown away with how smart she was for some reason. LOL He came in, asked her name, "Abby Kim", and how old she was "4 1/2". He asked her some other questions that she answered promptly and matter of factly, which impressed him. I was thinking he must not get around kids too often. LOL She is very smart but he was acting like she solved an equation. After that we met Phillip at work and went and ate at Chilis, after that we went to watch him play softball. Yesterday morning I took a chance and wore a sweater to work, good thing because it was CHILLY. I made Abby put her jacket on as always, and she hated it as always. She's always coming up with a new way to get it off. I told her she was not taking her jacket off. So she decides well I'll drop it off of my shoulders. I kept telling her Abby put your jacket on all the way because if you fall you won't be able to use your arms. Well sure enough, she came running to me, tripped on her own feet, and caught herself with her face. Blood EVERYWHERE. She busted her top lip and scraped under her nose pretty bad. I hate that feeling of sheer panic and fear and that shoots through you when you don't know how badly they're hurt. UGH! I got her fixed up and we left his game early. The swelling has gone down quite a bit. I will post pics of the dentist and her fat lip later.

I was rather productive today, now I'm feeling exhausted. My work has really been stressing me lately. I feel like I can barely make it to Friday, and I'm almost useless on the weekend. Today I cleaned the house which I normally do on Sunday, and ran errands. Abby and I went to Garden Ridge to get some Halloween decorations and some new throw pillows for the living room. They had some cute letters there so I was going to get KIM, they had I and M but no K. That was aggravating. I got over it and then we went to Korean grocery. I went to the old one this time, the other one is pricier and waaay busier. Well the old one is now remodeling most likely to keep up with competition. I got all our groceries and Abby and I had lunch there. They have a cafe type place there. It was a good trip, in and out.

So, we get home and I decided to put some of the yard decorations out before I took in the groceries. Abby had asked if she could help take in the groceries, I told her yes but she had to wait for me. So I go about what I'm doing and I heard a noise like something dropped, I didn't hear any crying so I kept on. When I went back to the car Abby is standing outside the back passenger door. She looks at me and says "sorry". She tried to carry the Kimchi in the house! It's heavy even for me! Anyway, apparently she tried lifting it, dropped it, then managed to get it BACK in the car. Needless to say the juice went ALL on the floor board. There was just a drizzle on the ground so I figured it wasn't broken that bad, but when I lifted it, it poured everywhere! It took me an hour to clean the garage floor and try to get as much as I could off the floor board. I have to have my car detailed tomorrow to get rid of the smell. For those of you that don't know what Kimchi smells like, it smells like...well....trash. It's cabbage that is fermented in spices. Cabbage alone smells bad. Needless to say after last night and today, my nerves are a little shot.

This evening I'm babysitting my nephews which I haven't done in awhile. Phillip and I took them and Abby to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It was really cute! The boys liked it. I'm here...blogging. Phillip and Abby passed out and the boys went on to bed. I was surprised Phillip was done with softball early so Abby and I got to spend some time with him today. Usually we see him on Friday night and Sunday. lol Tomorrow we're going to our friends house for an early dinner, I will have to wrap that up early, I'm tired and I have a big week ahead of me.

Toodles!

Whinings of the week

So, I found the culprit of Abby's recently developed foul mouth. Her name is Olivia and she's 4 1/2. I picked Abby up today and she asks me if "kill" is a bad word. I told her it depends, but it's not something you should say to people. I know it sounds dumb but she's 4 1/2 I can't get too detailed. Then she asks what's feces and is it a bad word. GEEZ! I asked her where she's hearing these words.......Olivia. I will have to talk to the teacher tomorrow. When I asked Abby if she told the teacher she said no "we aren't supposed to tattle tail". This teacher needs to be specific on what not to tattle on because clearly my child is the opposite of me....and follows rules. There are always going to be kids who are exposed to more than the next one and you can't be everywhere all the time, but this teacher setting a "tattle tail" rule I think encourages this behaviour and also on some level makes the children that have been taught differently, think it's ok. I agree every time John Doe says hush, that doesn't need to be reported. The teacher should make clear that bad words, or someone harming you should be reported. I may be overanaylizing but, whatever.

On another note. It's been one week since I should have taken my depo shot and, some weird things are happening in my temple. lol My right nipple is sore as all get out! And some other things I'll spare the details on, and no I'm not pregnant. I've just been on that shot since Abby was born, actually 4 months after Abby was born. I think weird things are expected to happen until my body is back to normal. Phillip and I "discussed" and I use that loosely, having a baby this past weekend. His take on it is the same as everything else that requires thought and planning....I have to do it! Basically I'm not going to take birth control, and when I get knocked up we'll decide a plan of action. (insert rolling eyes here) He did say he doesn't want to send "her" he's already convinced it will be a girl, I don't care either way, but he doesn't want her to go to daycare. So guess what that means....Marteel gives up independence and her own money again. That part I'll decide when I get there. I really like Primrose where Abby is, and I think I would feel confident leaving my 6 week old there. Who knows. I'm not real excited about being a stay at home mommy again. I loved staying home with Abby that 2 1/2 years but, I was in desperate need of adult interaction, and I found it made me feel alot crazier than I already am. LMAO The future is yet to be seen.
