Yes it's the year I was born, and my favorite number. It's on my wrist. Phillip thinks it's ghey as I'm sure many others will share in his opinion, and I don't care. :)

Yes...I did it again
I swear it's the last time. LMAO! We got a half chihuahua/half teacup chihuahua today. So far we are having no issues going potty outside, but Phillip and I have accepted that there will be pee and poop on the floor at some point. She is a very sweet 8 week old puppy. I did rescue her. She and her sibling were found with there mama on the side of the road. :( Needless to say there are some spots on her that need some healing, but otherwise she's a healthy little puppy. Abby said "I'm pretty sure she's not going to attack me, I'm way bigger". LOL Some pics are below. Her name is Coco.
On another note, we have been bad note free from school. Yay! Abby is super excited to start school on Monday. I'm just plain terrified. She starts soccer in September. I have a feeling the rest of this year is going to fly right past me if I blink too many times.
That's all I have for now.

So starts the countdown.
It's August. :( Not long now and it will be the morning of the first day of school. I'm trying to not be a total first time mom and buy everything monogrammed with her name, and make sure everything matches. Because I've been a mom for five years now, and I've been through this with four other children, I know it will all be lost by the second week. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do it anyway, because dammit it's only going to happen once.
Aside from the little fun things that come with this, so does the not so fun stuff. I am having to grasp earlier and faster than anticipated, that my child has alot of my personality. It only started showing up when she turned 5. She went from quiet, sweet, and mild mannered, to- loud, obnoxious, defiant, sassy, and rebellious. She was sent home with her first bad note EVER in her backpack last week. The note said "Abby is having a difficult time not talking during circle time. She also continues to talk when the teacher is talking, even after the teacher has asked her not to."
Abby of course looked at me with her puppy dog eyes and said " I know I was bad". I asked her what happened, and why she was talking during "teacher's turn", to which I already knew the response...and she didn't fail me. LMAO "The other kids were talking to me." Ok. Easy enough to address, or easy enough to determine ultimately if this is the case. I told her "You're not bad. If other kids are talking and bothering you, raise your hand and let the teacher know. Otherwise your mouth is to remain closed when the teacher is talking." She agreed.
This afternoon when I picked her up, the teacher had the note ready. This note said "Abby had a very rough day today. She would not be quiet regardless of the many requests to do so. We had a new teacher here today that was sitting by Abby, and was asking her questions, and Abby ignored her and continued playing and laughing with her friends. She continued all day not doing as the teacher asked her to do. How would you like me to handle this in the class?
On the one hand, calm down lady she's 5 1/2. On the other hand, it's starts with being 5 1/2. My response was, remove her from the class (completely) for 5 minutes. If she persists, eliminate one of her activities.
This time Abby had no excuse when I asked her why she had misbehaved. I asked her if she understood that when the teacher is talking she is to be quiet unless otherwise instructed? "Yes". Then you know this behaviour is unacceptable and not tolerated? "Yes." So, I made very clear that since she has made clear to me that she understands and has no questions, if she receives another bad note, there will be severe consequences. She of course thinks the natural "I'm going to get a spanking", or " I'll be grounded", and so she voiced that she knew these consequences. Too bad for her I was that kid, and knowing your consequences only makes it easier to make bad choices. So I quickly corrected her and informed her that she will not know what the consequences are. It could be no swimming, no soccer, no sleep overs, no t.v., I can take away all your toys, etc.. I told her to think hard before she opened her mouth in class, as anything could be the result of that bad choice. She was somewhat shocked. She had not yet imagined those possibilities. Granted she will still weigh what she wants to do against the potential consequences when she gets older, which is what I want her to do. Lesser of the two evils. The point is to make her own her choices.
This could be the last I ever hear of the problem, or it could not. Either way, my sadness is I have to let go of "mommy" mode and start demanding more from her, to prepare her for her long road aho. It just makes me want to cry.
Stay tuned....

Moving along
So I just signed Abby up for soccer. I'm going to have to take her uniform and have it seriously altered. LMAO! They had YM for shirt and YS for pants, both of which I already know will drag the ground on her.
I can't believe I have one month left before she goes to Kindy. I don't know if I've said this, but I really don't want her to go!!
Phillip finally stepped up from his beatdown sunfire. He is now pimping a Lexus! You heard me right. Now he looks like a true asian. LMAO! Abby likes his car. I know he drove that sunfire to save money, and because he doesn't care what he drives but, some things you just shouldn't scrimp on.
Anyway, Saturday my girls and I were supposed to go to Six Flags but, Phillip decided to have a bbq at the house, so we have rescheduled. I am finally going to get my tat filled in on the 31st, and I may come out with a new one. ;)
Phillip and I decided to go to Shreveport our birthday weekend with another couple. We will do the nice hotel with spa. Woohoo! I don't care to gamble longer than an hour. So...I'd like to say I'll be shopping but, it's Shreveport. It's a getaway so, I'm excited either way. Abby will get to stay with Meena and Jason, and talk their freekin ears off.
That's really all to report here. Nothing really exciting.

Is it Friday yet?
Everything is good here. Abby has recovered beautifully from her surgery. I can now say she no longer snores!! She has been having a great time at summer camp. They have 1-2 field trips a week! Last week they went bowling on Tuesday, and went to Rainforest Cafe on Thursday. They have water day in between which obviously is her favorite. :)
We went to see Phillip's dad in Killeen this past Saturday. He sold his house down here since moving back to Korea, and came to wrap some stuff up. We had some good eating on Saturday. Love me some Korean food. We went to Round Rock in Austin where Phillip's dad pretty much bought the place for Abby. LOL! It was brutally hot.
Yesterday I marked off one of my many things on the house project list. We bought a new ceiling fan for the living room. I LOVE it!! Phillip installed it sparing all but one cuss word I think. lol Next will be new doors. 2 more months and I will have quite a bit of money to accomplish the rest with. I cannot believe my baby is going to Kindergarten!
I've made Friday my ritual girls night. It is so hard for me to find women that I get along with, and I've found 3!! They are so much fun to be around, and for whatever reason think I'm a hoot. lol Phillip typically has softball Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, not to mention the couple days during the week. I don't mind him playing softball at all, but I'm not gonna be the mom who sits at home all the time, or is always lugging the kid around when I want to go somewhere. I need "ME TIME"! Kathy plays tennis which I've been DYING to do but I had noone to play with! So we're going to start at some point, but it's damn hot out there.
Next weekend us girls are going to Six Flags which I'm stoked about. Then July 25th we're all going to see The Reverend Horton Heat!! WOOT!! I missed them in June because Phillip wanted me at his tournament that Saturday. This time I'm not missing them!!
Phillip and I are still discussing Las Vegas for our birthdays. I haven't ever been, and it will be good alone time for me and Phillip.
Just the usual hustle and bustle around here. That's all I've got folks. Tata!

Whew..long week.
Abby had her surgery this past Monday. Everything went very well. She did excellent! She continues to do excellent, and we're on our 3rd post op day. It's supposed to get really nasty between now and Sunday. Although based on the past 4 days, she will fly right through it. I have pictures from pre-op and post-op, I will have to upload later as I'm blogging from work. LOL Abby is at home with Nana.
We got to the hospital Monday at 7:00 a.m.. She was scared but determined to be brave. I explained Saturday and Sunday what they were going to do step by step, minus the OR procedure. lol They gave her a cocktail around 8:00 a.m., and whilst most people find it amusing to see a child "high" or "drunk" it's actually quite heartbreaking. It is kinda funny, but it quickly turns not funny when you remember they are completely confused and scared that they are feeling that way. She was having double vision, she kept grabbing for the wall, and the curtain thinking it was right there, but instead she was grabbing air. She kept saying "there's TWO Handy Manny's!" ROFL! Unfortunately I had to suffer through that for close to 40 minutes before they finally took her back. She was calm...obviously. All the nurses and doctors that came in contact with her absolutely adored her, that made it easier on her too.
The surgery lasted almost 40 minutes. Phillip and I got to back to recovery shortly after, and she was holding her own oxygen mask. (I have a cute picture) The nurse said, she is the best patient I've had in a looong time. She woke with no trouble from anesthesia (most children are combative) and he was trying to put the oxygen on her, she grabbed the mask and said " I can do it". LMAO! He must have asked me and Phillip 2 or 3 times what the secret was to having such a mature 5 1/2 yr. old. I was such a proud mama. We got to her room sometime after 10:00 a.m.. She might have opened her eyes twice since they woke her. She slept until 2:30p.m.. She woke up and asked for some Jello. She ate probably 8 bites, she refused to let me feed her, said she could do it. Then she threw that up, and she requested mac 'n cheese. She ate several bites of that and threw it up. She didn't cry one time. She went back to sleep after requesting waffles for when she woke up. LMAO! They make them very squishy in the hospital.
My dad and his wife came and visited for a little bit. She tried to stay awake, but lost that battle. She never let her trusty Stitch (Lelo & Stitch movie) out of her sight the whole time we were at the hospital. My doctor also gave her a surgery doctor bear that she didn't let leave her sight either. She finally came to for a few hours around 5:00p.m. She was an absolute Angel the entire time. I could not ask for a better behaved child, or one with a better personality, she exceeds anything I could have ever hoped for.
She finally got discharged Tuesday around 10:00 a.m.. She was MORE than ready to go. She was ready to change her clothes (several times) and play babies. I left her with Nana and daddy, and I went to work for the afternoon. The worst days are between the 3-5 day. I requested Thurs. and Fri. off, but ended up taking Wednesday because I was tired, which puts me at work today, and off tomorrow. lol She is drinking well, eating well, and all in all being herself. She had 0 pain meds until yesterday. She had none in the hospital (not including anesthesia). She's a tough cookie. But, her throat is starting to scab and get tight, so I went ahead and started giving it, I don't know when the shit will hit the fan.
All of her neighborhood friends brought her gifts yesterday! It was sooo sweet! Abby was just standing there every time the doorbell rang like "is it my birthday?". lol They all brought coloring books, stamps, markers, puzzles, balloons. So sweet. We have really nice neighbors, and they all love them some Abby.
I wish I could take her swimming this weekend, I know she's itching to. Phillip and I took her to a friend's bbq this past Saturday and she got to swim all day because I knew she wouln't be able to swim for awhile, so she'll be ok till next weekend.
That's all I have for now. :)

It's Friday again...
YAY! I love me some Friday!
I'd love to recap the whole week, but I was not blessed with that skill. I can't sit down and list out what's happening next week, nor can I tell you what happened this past week on the exact days, I just blabber. Sometimes it's stuff that's happened over 3 weeks all rolled into one post. Nothing exciting happened though. Same ole.
It turns out Little Elm now has a Youth Soccer Association. So whereas before I was going to register Abby for The Colony to start in August, I will now have to register her in Little Elm to start in September. I'm not excited about either location. Whilst I love our house, and I think we picked a great location -(we are literally on the line of Frisco and Little Elm), we didn't buy on the Frisco side of the street. A little frustrating, and even more, something our freekin realtor should have informed us of...things you learn being a first time buyer. Anyway, if you go further west from our subdivision about 20 minutes, the area changes scenary, and the people to go with it. The same is true of The Colony. Unless you own one of the newer homes closer to 121 where it doesn't smell like sewage, then you're rubbing shoulders with the less than appealing. I know how stuck up that must sound, but it is what it is.
Buying a condo/loft sounds very appealing to Phillip and I, so we will see once the tollway is finished what we're going to do. I'll know more once Abby has been in school for a little while as to whether I still feel we are in the area we need to be in. Little Elm schools are ranked well, my biggest concern is education. I would prefer to not have to pay for private school if she can get what she needs socially and academically from public school.
On another note, I went on a rampage in Abby's room yesterday. I cleaned out ALOT of clothes and toys for donation. Some of the stuff hadn't even been worn. I'm lazy and detest the thought of making the effort to sell stuff. I've always given it away to people we know, or I donate. The opportunity to sell it has been presented by use of someone else's garage sale. lol I think I will make an attempt at going through the stuff and see what can be sold. I don't particularly want to go sit outside and sell stuff I paid $50.00 for, for $20.00 but, I guess it's better than nothing.
I got Abby's Kindergarten "supply list". Lord. When I went to school you showed up with a crayola box, a box of crayola's, glue, and scissors, oh and a backpack to put it in. Not anymore. This list has at least 20 items, and it's not just one of that item, but 2. I've been informed that the second set of that item is requested to supply the underpriveleged children with. WTF kind of shit is that? So I get to provide people who don't work... with an income, supply their health insurance, and now, pay for their children's school supplies. I think the government (particularly Obama Bin Laden) has gotten confused as to the meaning of "free country".
That's about all I have to say today.
